St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church & School
February will go by quickly. After Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day, St. Paul's Girls Basketball, and enough classes and meetings to fill a calendar, Lent begins with Ash Wednesay on March 6. As we did last year, we will be having worship here in Wonewoc at 3:30pm each Wednesday followed by a fellowship meal. There will also be worship at St. Paul's in Hillsboro at 6pm each week, with a soup supper at 5pm that all are welcome to enjoy.
The theme for Lent this year is Three Words of Truth. Each week a different pastor from our circuit will lead us in worship and preach on Scripture verses that contain three important words.
"Is It I?" - Matthew 26:20-25
"Love One Another" - John 13:31-35
"Watch and Pray" - Matthew 26:35-41
"I Am He" - John 18:3-9
"What Is Truth?" - John 18:33-40
"Take Him Away!" - John 19:14-18
Lent is an important time of year. Every service in God's house is special, and we should make our best efforts to attend in order to honor and thank our Lord, as well as to encourage each other. But Lent takes us on a special journey that never gets old, insignificant, or unimportant. It's a journey of repentance and faith, of seeing Jesus humbling himself for us and for all, all the way to the cross, in order to bring us to him in glory forever. Join us!
