It's about Jesus

St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church began its ministry in 1869 when German Lutherans wanted to worship together in the Wonewoc area. It was officially established in 1871. Nine years later, our school was established. The 2019-20 school year is our 140th, and in 2021 we will celebrate 150 years of God's grace to us. We've worshipped in the same beautiful church building since 1911. We are a part of a church body called the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, established in Milwaukee in 1850

We exist to share the good news of Jesus, the Son of God and the world's Savior from sin. We are all sinners who have wandered from God, and the good news (gospel) is that Jesus paid for everyone's sins, no matter who the person and no matter what they've done. By faith in Jesus - faith which is a gift that the Holy Spirit puts in our hearts through the gospel - the forgiveness Jesus won for us becomes ours and we are guaranteed perfect life forever in heaven with God and all who trust in Jesus as their Savior.

The gospel doesn't just give us confidence with a true and certain hope in the face of death. It also gives us motivation and guidance for our lives here.
